I grew up and had to move to North Dakota from Marquette about 14 years ago. North Dakota is beautiful in its own way and I am here for good now, but this video makes me think how much I still miss the trees, lake, hills, and people. Summers in Marquette……..Does it get any better? Thank you for the video. It was great. I miss you all! -D. Woody

Good job….let’s keep the future of Marquette simple, yet warm and inviting.

Ok, so, good job on the video. Great shots and it really does bring out the best in Marquette. Though it seems a little odd that NMU wasn’t mentioned until near the end, and wasn’t paid much attention to.

The condos aren’t bringing any new business to town since more than half are still empty and the ones that are bought half of those people are only here for a very short time out of the year. I love Marquette with all my heart and love the beautiful nature around it, let’s not let the money hungry trolls try to turn it into Traverse City.

  • Smsleeman:

Great job showcasing the town. Although, I’m a lifetime resident and 100% disapprove of all of the condominiums springing up all over town. Why not have a community garden or something else that everyone can enjoy… not just money hungry trolls that like to escape their sanctuaries downstate to be up here 1 week out of the year.

  • MqtMich:

Better than Big Ten bands? NO IT’S NOT. Get your head out of your ass; it’s not better than downstate bands, for Christ sake! Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

Love the Farmers’ Market, Library, Food Co-op, shops, people… HATE the plans of the money-men to turn this lovely place into Traverse City. Condos on the lake are not what makes Marquette “charming”.

  • DMBVENDOR:

Lovely, dramatic, inspiring; congratulations on a fine presentation. Marquette is not about winning football teams, it is about an energetic community that can support a symphony and other performing and visual arts as well as youth sports , museums and host regional activities. The narrator’s voice is clear and pleasing. I am proud to be from Marquette.

Ouch! I would not have shown Marquette High School’s football team. A record of 0-9 is not something to highlight. Or is it 0-18 going back to last year? Stan Wright must have been busy when the call went out for a narrator.
