I would suggest not going with the cheapest. The saying “you get what you pay for” is especially true when you have a homeowner claim.

Top ones I would look at first are:
State Farm
USAA (if you qualify; usually only military & their families)
Germania
Liberty Mutual

I have been a contractor for the last 5 years handling mainly insurance claims and it always seems that the people that have these never have a problem. Claims are handled efficiently and they pay what they owe. Also depending on who your Auto insurance is with, you might be able to get a multi-line discount (having Auto & Homeowners under one company). Good luck!
